There are a number of things you will want to consider if you are unable to attend NSO session.
There are a number of things you will want to consider if you are unable to attend your registered NSO session.
Initial Steps:
- If you are able, please try to fit your assigned NSO session into your summer plans. These sessions will help to create a smooth, stress-free transition to Trent.
- If this isn't possible, contact the NSO department! If you are unable to attend your assigned NSO session, we can try to assign you to another NSO session.

Students coming to Trent from Highschool
If you're not able to attend NSO, but would appreciate some help registering for classes, we will be available to answer any questions you might have about the course registration process - just contact the New Student Orientation staff at (705) 748 1011 x7888. Students Transferring or Being Re-Admitted to Trent
Transfer students are reminded that the Office of the Registrar must receive your final transcript and course descriptions before transfer credits can be assessed. This must occur before you can register in a course requiring a prerequisite. You will not be permitted to register in some courses if your transfer credits have not been assessed. For any questions or concerns, please contact our department, and we will assist your transition however possible.
Out-of-Province and International Students

Student Card Photos
During NSO, students will have the opportunity to to have their Student Card photos taken. If you are unable to attend, you are also able to email a photo to the Student Card Office. This will allow you to speed up your card pick-up in January. Please look at the Campus Cards website for more information.
Some of the basic regulations are as follows:
- Your photo must be in colour, .jpg format and should be less than 500 KB.
- Your face must be clearly visible and facing forward
- Your photo must have a solid background (i.e. - a white wall)
- Your photo must show a clear image of your face (e.g. passport photo)
- We cannot accept photos with hats (unless worn for religious purposes) or sunglasses.
