Over 300 Trent students, faculty, staff and alumni expected at new annual event

Wednesday, November 16, 2011, Peterborough

Over 300 Trent University students, faculty, staff and alumni are gearing up to cheer on the Peterborough Petes when they take on the Belleville Bulls at the Memorial Centre on Thursday, November 17 at 7 p.m. for the first annual Trent Night at the Peterborough Petes event.

Members of the Trent community will play an integral role in Thursday night's game beginning with the Trent International Student Association (TISA) choir who will perform the national anthem. The ceremonial puck drop will include Sheldon Willerton, president of the Trent Central Student Association (TCSA), alongside Julie Davis, vice-president of External Relations and Advancement, Bill Byrick, director of Athletics and Robert Taylor-Vaisey, president of the Alumni Association. The intermission challenge will be hosted by Trent's College Cabinet heads who will take to the ice to compete in a relay race. The College that wins the race will be the inaugural recipient of the 'Trent Night at the Petes' trophy, a new tradition for the annual event.

Tickets will be available at the Memorial Centre box office before the game and are $12 with valid Trent ID. All members of the Trent community are invited and encouraged to attend.
