Author Adam Sol Brings ‘Jeremiah, Ohio’ to  Trent University Oshawa

Writers Reading Series Continues at Trent University, Oshawa Thornton Road Campus

Monday, October 25, 2010, Peterborough

Trent University Oshawa Thornton Road Campus is pleased to welcome the public to the Writers Reading Series presentation of Adam Sol, who will read from his third collection of poetry, Jeremiah, Ohio,on Monday, November 1 at 7 p.m. at 55 Thornton Road South, Room 125, followed by a reception.

Adam Sol’s Jeremiah, Ohio, a novel in poems, was published by House of Anansi Press, and  shortlisted for the Trillium Prize for Poetry in 2009.  His previous books are Jonah’s Promise, which won MidList Press’s First Series Book Award for Poetry; and Crowd of Sounds, which won the Trillium Award for Poetry in 2004. He is also the author of numerous essays and reviews for publications such as The Globe and Mail, The Forward, Critique and CNQ.  His work has been featured on Nextbook.com, Poetry Daily, National Post Online and the CBC radio program “The Next Chapter.”

The Department of English Literature at Trent University is delighted to bring the Writers Reading Series to Oshawa for its eighth year, having just announced its 22nd season in Peterborough. These events bring award-winning and world-class authors for literary readings, critical/practical discussions and plain old casual conversation.

All members of the community are invited to take advantage of this opportunity to see, hear, and meet these writers in relaxed and hospitable circumstances, free of charge. Every reading features a book table, with copies of the authors’ latest publications available for sale.

Writers Reading is supported by the Canada Council, The Writers’ Union of Canada, the Nind Fund, the Colleges at Trent, and participating academic departments of the University.

Free public events, lectures, concerts and talks continue to be part of Trent University Oshawa experience at the new Thornton Road campus.
