Trent Alumnus Don Tapscott’s Latest Publication Up For Book of the Year 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MACROWIKINOMICS: Rebooting Business and the World by Don Tapscott is listed for the Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year

Wednesday, September 29, 2010, Peterborough

Trent Alumnus Don Tapscott’s new book Macrowikinomics: Rebooting Business and the World, which goes on sale tomorrow, is expected to be as influential and successful as his 2007 Bestseller, Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything.

In their 2007 bestseller, Wikinomics, Tapscott and co-author Anthony Williams illuminated how mass collaboration was changing the way businesses communicate, compete, and succeed in the new global marketplace. But much has changed in three years, and the principles of Wikinomics are now more powerful than ever.

Macrowikinomics is on the long list for the prestigious Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year award for 2010. In the book, Don Tapscott emphasizes the need to rethink many of the organizations and institutions that have served as the pillars of our economy, after the wake-up call of the global economic crisis of 2009. The question is now posed: How must our institutions change for a new century, new media, new generation and a new economy? What is to be done?

Reflecting on his university years, Mr. Tapscott credits Trent's influence with developing his global awareness and passion for social change.

Internationally sought writer, consultant and speaker, Don Tapscott is one of the world's leading authorities on business strategy and how information technology changes business, government and society. He is the chairman of nGenera Innovation Network. He served as founder and chairman of the international think tank New Paradigm before its acquisition by nGenera. The Washington Technology Report called him one of the most influential media authorities since Marshall McLuhan. He is also Adjunct Professor of Management, at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.

Macrowikinomics: Rebooting Business and the World by Don Tapscott and Anthony D. Williams, Portfolio Penguin (Canada) goes on sale tomorrow September 30, 2010 for the cost of $34.00. The official launch will be held at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. macrowikinomics.com
