Public Information Session on April 29 for 2010 Canada-Wide Science Fair

Community Invited to Volunteer as Peterborough Readies for Major National Event

Friday, April 24, 2009, Peterborough

Trent University and the City of Peterborough will be hosting a Public Information Session regarding the 2010 Canada-Science Fair on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. in the Evinrude Centre.

This will be a great opportunity for community members to learn how they can get involved in this exciting national event taking place in Peterborough from May 15 to 23, 2010. Members of the event organizing committee will deliver a brief presentation outlining plans for the 2010 Canada-Wide Science Fair, as well as encouraging members of the community to sign up as volunteers.

President Bonnie Patterson, Mayor Paul Ayotte as well as representatives from the Peterborough Regional Science Fair and Victoria Regional Science Fair will also be on hand to help send off this year’s local science fair winners who will be competing in the 2009 Canada-Wide Science Fair in Winnipeg.

When: Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Evinrude Centre, Multi-Purpose Room

Trent University won the bid in 2006 to host the 2010 Canada-Wide Science Fair. More than 800 of Canada’s brightest youth from across the country will participate in this event which is expected to attract more than 1,700 visitors to the region.
