Trent University Hosts Trent Quilters Annual Celebration on March 24 and 25

Honorary Artist-in-Residence Alice Williams to Lead Event

Wednesday, March 21, 2007, Peterborough

Trent University’s Champlain College is pleased to be hosting the Trent Quilters Annual Celebration of Quilting and the Textile Arts on Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days in the Great Hall at Champlain College.

Led by Champlain College's honorary artist-in-residence, Alice Williams of Curve Lake, the event will bring together many of the leading textile artists and quilters in the Kawarthas to demonstrate their craft and to display examples of the best quilting in Eastern Ontario.

Ms. Williams is an internationally celebrated quilter who is renowned for bringing the iconography of traditional native art into her textile work.

Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served throughout the day and the event is suitable for children and families.

This event is sponsored by Champlain College and the Nind Fund.
