Public Invited to Attend This Free Presentation on
Thursday, Oct. 26 at 10:00 a.m. in Wenjack Theatre

October 20, 2006, Peterborough

Trent University is pleased to invite members of the community to attend a special presentation by Canadian Space Agency astronaut Chris Hadfield on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 10:00 a.m. in the Wenjack Theatre.

Chris Hadfield will give a presentation about his two space missions along with Canada’s role in space exploration.  Members of the audience will have an opportunity to ask him questions following the presentation.

In 1995, Chris Hadfield flew in his first NASA mission aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis, becoming the first Canadian to operate the Canadarm in orbit, as well as the only Canadian to ever board the Russian space station Mir.  During his following mission aboard Endeavour in 2001, Chris Hadfield performed two spacewalks, making him the first Canadian to leave a spacecraft and float freely in space.  These experiences along with photos from his space travels form the basis of his presentation.

The Wenjack Theatre is located in Otonabee College at 2151 East Bank Drive.   Pay and display meters are available beside the parking lots.

This presentation is organized in partnership by the Canadian Space Agency and Trent University.

Further details about this event are available on www.trentu.ca.
