Trent Voices Podcast Celebrates 5,000 Streams by Releasing a “Best Of” List of Interviews
Podcast conversations include Canadian leaders in science, literature, business, education, politics, entertainment and more
Trent Voices, the Trent University Alumni Association podcast, has recently hit several milestones. In December of 2019 they conducted their 75th audio interview and posted their 60th podcast episode. Just this month, they celebrated their 5,000th stream.
A long-form interview show, Trent Voices shines the spotlight on Trent’s many talented alumni. From household names to people working behind the scenes, all of the guests are helping to shape the world in their own unique ways.
“We’ve chatted with Order of Canada members, Governor General Award winners, senior politicians, Juno winners, award-winning scientists, world-renowned journalists, Canadian Screen Award winners, and so many more,” notes Trent Voices host and TRENT Magazine/TRENT Magazine Live managing editor Donald Fraser ’91. “Sometimes it feels like our line-up could rival CBC’s Q.”
The show also introduces listeners to alumni that might not be making headlines on a regular basis: scientists, activists, researchers, business leaders, educators and more.
“It’s an honour to showcase the work our alumni are doing around the world,” says Mr. Fraser. “We are sector leaders and change makers. We continue to show the spirit of Trent in all the work that we do.”
Trent Voices is available on iTunes, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Tune In, Podbean, and on the TRENT Magazine Live podcast page.
To celebrate their 5,000th download, Trent Voices has pulled together a chronological list of their ten most popular episodes from the past several years.
“We think there is something here to interest pretty much any listener,” says Mr. Fraser of the list. “Particularly alumni and community members. Not only do we examine current events, culture, arts, politics, and science, but we do so through a Trent University prism. It’s a great listen for anyone associated with the university.”
