#FacesofTrentU: Stepping-Stone to Success
Novin Nezamololama, Environmental & Life Sciences M.Sc.
“I decided to pursue my Master’s degree at Trent because I thought that a Master’s would be a great stepping-stone for my career. I chose to continue my studies at Trent as I liked the Biochemistry courses taught by my now-supervisor Dr. Steven Rafferty. I was interested in the field that he was conducting research in, and I knew it would enable me to get more hands-on experience,” explains Novin Nezamololama, Environmental & Life Sciences student and international student from Iran.
Coming from a Canadian high school in Malaysia, Mr. Nezamololama chose Trent because he wanted to attend a university where he could approach instructors and ask for guidance, something that Trent University’s small class sizes are known for. That, and the various scholarships and bursaries available to students helped him make his decision. After four years of study, Mr. Nezamololama graduated with a B.Sc. Honours in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology in 2016.
Now putting the finishing touches on his thesis and preparing for his thesis defence, Mr. Nezamololama is excited and feels prepared to begin the next chapter.
