Trent University Durham GTA Officially Signs-on as TeachingCity Partner
Trent University’s Dr. Leo Groarke & Joe Muldoon make Trent’s TeachingCity partnership official
The TeachingCity has put Oshawa on the map as a city dedicated to the integration of post-secondary efforts into the community at large. By making Oshawa a TeachingCity, local post-secondary institutions and the city of Oshawa have prioritized the importance of fostering innovation and creativity to provide student efforts that the community can benefit from.
Prior to the ribbon-cutting of the new TeachingCity Hub on May 14, Trent University Durham GTA signed-on as an official TeachingCity partner. Trent University Durham joins fellow partners City of Oshawa, Canadian Urban Institute, Durham College, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, and the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering. Through this partnership, students and staff will join the City of Oshawa in addressing urban issues, informed by their educational backgrounds.
“Signing-on as an official TeachingCity partner is important for Trent and Oshawa. With our rich history in the region, and our plans to expand our Trent Durham GTA campus, we are always looking for opportunities to contribute to the greater community,” said Dr. Leo Groarke, president and vice-chancellor of Trent University. “We look forward to collaborating with our post-secondary partners, and the City of Oshawa to increase opportunities for students to engage with the community they’re living and learning in.”
