#FacesofTrentU: Exchange Programs Offer a Global Perspective on Community Development
Alex Salton, International Development
“The most important class I’ve taken in my time at Trent has been Community Development, which I took while I was on exchange in Ecuador. Through field placements in the course, I had the opportunity to stay in Ecuador’s capital and observe and assist at an NGO that worked with refugees in the country. I think what was most amazing to see while I was there was the people working. They just care so incredibly and want to help people who don’t have basic social services.”
Students who travel abroad as part of Trent’s many exchange programs know what amazing experiences are offered across the globe. Fourth-year International Development Studies student, Alex Salton is no exception. He credits his time with the Trent in Ecuador program as one of his best experiences to date.
Trent University prides itself on providing an outstanding personal and interactive learning environment. This story is part of the #FacesofTrentU series, which highlights our many student success stories and the numerous dynamic programs offered at Trent.
