Fourth Year Business Students Leave their Mark on the Trent Community

Students in ADMN4101H - Thinking About Management present annual legacy projects

A semester of hard work came to a triumphant conclusion as students in the fourth-year Business Administration class Thinking About Management presented their final legacy projects in the Gathering Space on December 5.

Each year students in the course are tasked with creating a project that they hope will have a continued impact on the Trent community for years to come. Working in groups, students overcame the challenges of implementing a project of this size on campus and put their marketing, human resources, community relations, and management skills to the test.

Projects this year included a drum-making workshop, video gaming competitions, and a mentorship program for students who are the first in their family to attend university.

“By taking this course I was able to put the skills and theories of business management that I was studying in class into action in our community,” said fourth-year Business Administration student Campbell Paton. “Most of the students in this class are in their last year at Trent and we now have a huge advantage over competing job candidates because we have experience building a project from an idea into an actual business operation.”
