As Canadian as it Gets: Trent ESL Students from Mexico Learn to Curl
Quintessentially Canadian experience a hit with international students
The Peterborough Curling Club was abuzz with excitement as Trent-ESL students from Mexico got ready to take to the ice. The group of approximately 40 students and their hosts turned out for the fun filled afternoon and brought their level of Canadian cultural understanding to a whole new level.
“This is the kind of programming that makes a Canadian experience unforgettable,” said Cath D.Amico, manager of Trent-ESL at Trent University. “Seeing our students step out of their comfort zone and try something totally new is another reminder of how life-changing an experience abroad really is for everyone involved.”
The event was organized by Christina McDannold of the Canada Homestay Network. The Peterborough Curling Club generously donated ice time.
