Bata Library Building to Close Thursday, April 27
Bata Library move underway
The move has begun and the transformation of the Bata Library will soon be underway. Starting Thursday, April 27 the Bata Library building will be closed. On Thursday, AMJ Campbell Moving will begin the main move associated with emptying the Bata Library Building. All materials and offices will be moved from the second, third and fourth floors.
Given the closure of the turning circle and Lot I in front of the Library building from April 27 through to May 12 to facilitate the main move of library material to the offsite locations, and the level of activity taking place at the loading dock, it is advised that the building be entered from the podium doors.
As of this coming Thursday, the only employees who will be given access to the Bata building are:
- Administrative employees whose office is in Bata Library, and have not been relocated yet (your visitors are welcome, but you will have to let them in)
- Facilities Management employees
- Information Technology employees
- Security
- Library staff
Neither students, staff, faculty, service contractors, or the general public should be allowed into the building unless approved beforehand, and accompanied by appropriate managers.
If you have any specific questions about the transformation process, or the move, please email Kent Stringham, associate vice-president, Facilities Management.
