Dr. Chris Metcalfe offers expertise around what is in Canadian drinking water

Trent University’s renowned research expertise was on display again this week. On Wednesday, June 17 at 9:00 p.m. CBC The National reported on an investigation into Canada’s drinking water. The story, which looked at what’s in Canadian drinking water, found that not all cities across the country test for all contaminants. Dr. Chris Metcalfe, professor in Environmental and Resource Studies and the director of the Institute for Freshwater Science offered his expertise. Prof. Metcalfe's work focuses on how contaminants are affecting the environment and spoke to how health effects from chemicals, pesticides and metals even at low doses can be cumulative.

Prof. Metcalfe is a researcher in the Trent Water Quality Centre which specializes in method development and the application of new and innovative techniques for measuring isotopes and trace amounts of organic and inorganic contaminants in water.
