Community Lecture Series Draws Sell-Out Crowd for Second Event

Internationally recognized Mississauga Ojibway artist and trained biologist Rick Beaver was on hand to deliver the second lecture in the popular Sense of Place lecture series at Peterborough’s Market Hall on March 14, 2015. His discussion on the Alderville Black Oak Savanna, one of the most endangered ecological communities in Ontario, drew attendance from people as far away as Toronto. The four-part lecture series is co-hosted by Kawartha Land Trust and Trent University.

Trent Receives Federal Grant to Train Next Generation of Environmental Professionals

Trent University will become a national leader in training the next generation of environmental professionals in Canada, with the help of a $1.65 million grant through the Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Professor Murray, a Canada research chair in integrative wildlife conservation, bioinformatics, and ecological modelling, and professor at Trent University, will spearhead the program, which will support the training of highly-qualified graduate students and postdoctoral fellows from Canada and abroad.

Trent University’s 2015 Report to the Community Released

Trent University has released its new 2015 Report to the Community, showcasing some of the many bonds between Trent and the Peterborough area, and the contributions of faculty, staff, students, alumni and retirees to the community.

Trent Undergrads Travel to Mexico to Present Research to International Audience

As the culmination of work completed in a Trent course, a group of undergraduate students recently enjoyed the opportunity to travel abroad to present their findings at an international conference at the Colegio de Postgraduados in Cardenas, Mexico on April 30, 2015.
