Trent Humanities Week:

Beginning Monday, April 13 with the Humanities at Trent Symposium, Trent University celebrated all things humanities during the weeklong event. Be sure to check out #TrentHumanites on Twitter and Facebook for more stories, profiles and information on the importance of studying the humanities.

Annual Teaching Awards:

Innovative, motivational and engaging are just a few of the words used to describe the outstanding faculty members honoured at the Annual Celebration of Teaching Excellence held this past Wednesday evening at Trent University. Margaret Hobbs, Asaf Zohar, Joshua Noiseux, and Robyne Hanley-Dafoe were all presented with a 2014/15 teaching award. Dr. Marco Pollanen was also honoured Wednesday evening with the Desire2Learn Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning.

New B.Ed. in Aboriginal Education announced at Trent University:

The new B.Ed. in Aboriginal Education will offer entry from high school or through transfer agreements with local community colleges or First Nations Education Institutes, offering eligible students credit for their past educational experiences.

New Student Centre Designs Revealed:

The highly-anticipated new Student Centre at Trent University entered into its next phase this week with the Trent Central Student Association (TCSA) in partnership with Trent University and architect firm, Teeple Architects Inc., calling for detailed input on three proposed designs for the new campus building. Trent’s International Partnership with India’s Mahatma Gandhi University:

In honour of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Canada, Trent University’s international partnership with Mahatma Gandhi University in the area of bio-based composites and replacement technology was highlighted. The partnership, founded in 2009, has resulted in more than 40 joint publications and multiple visits by students, faculty and research associates between the two universities.
