Call for Nominations - Teaching Awards

The Teaching Awards Subcommittee is seeking nominations for four Trent University teaching awards to be presented in 2015.

The Award for Educational Leadership and Innovation honours a faculty or staff member who makes a distinctive impact through their educational leadership, teaching, innovation, and/or successful communication. A full description of the nomination criteria and process, and a list of previous recipients of the Award for Educational Leadership and Innovation, can be found at http://www.trentu.ca/teaching/internal_innovation.php. The deadline for nominations for the Award for Educational Leadership and Innovation was November 15, 2014.

The Symons Award for Excellence in Teaching honours a faculty or staff member who stands out from others in encouraging learning, brings unique experiences to the teaching space, challenges students to do their best work, serves as inspiration for students, and demonstrates exemplary concern for students. A full description of the nomination criteria and process, and a list of previous recipients of the Symons Award for Excellence in Teaching, can be found at http://www.trentu.ca/teaching/internal_symons.php. The deadline for nominations for the Symons Award for Excellence in Teaching is January 31, 2015.

The Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistance honours a teaching assistant who excels at encouraging learning in workshop, tutorial, seminar, laboratory or field settings. A full description of the nomination criteria and process, and a list of previous recipients of the Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistance, can be found at http://www.trentu.ca/teaching/internal_assistance.php. The deadline for nominations for the Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistance is February 7, 2015.

The CUPE 3908-1 Award for Excellence in Teaching is presented to a member of the part-time faculty at Trent University, represented by CUPE Local 3908 - Unit 1, to recognize the positive impact contract instructors have on students and their learning. A full description of the nomination criteria and process, and a list of previous recipients of the CUPE 3908-1 Award for Excellence in Teaching, can be found at http://www.trentu.ca/teaching/internal_cupe.php. The deadline for nominations for the CUPE 3908-1 Award for Excellence in Teaching is March 1, 2015.
