Trent University Psychology Professor on CBC Television's "Canada's Smartest Person"

Dr. James Parker, a professor in the Department of Psychology at Trent, appeared on the premiere episode of CBC Television’s “Canada’s Smartest Person” on Sunday, September 28 as an expert on intelligence.

“Canada’s Smartest Person” is a new 9-week interactive television series that utilizes the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Each episode features a series of challenges for four contestants in various areas of intelligence: musical, visual, linguistic, physical, logical, and social. In the final episode, the weekly winners will return to determine the country’s “smartest” person.

Recognized as one of Canada’s top experts in emotional intelligence, Prof. Parker was the Canada research chair in emotion and health from 2002 to 2013. Prof. Parker and his team, including graduate students from Trent’s Emotion and Health Research Laboratory, had previously developed the intelligence tests used by CBC Television for national broadcasts of “Test the Nation” in 2010 and in 2007.
