Students Share Study Abroad Stories at Annual Welcome Dinner

New exchange students at Trent, students who have returned to Trent from a recent study abroad opportunity in another country, and all students involved in the Study Abroad Ambassador Program – nearly 80 students in total – were welcomed (back) to Trent at the annual welcome dinner on September 12 at Sadleir House.

Hosted by the Study Abroad Program, the event featured a delicious home-cooked meal prepared by volunteers from the Ambassador Program and the Study Abroad Office.  Following the dinner, students were encouraged to share stories about their experiences abroad during an open mic session. A special musical performance rounded out the evening.

“We had such a great time hosting the dinner this year,” said Kate Logan, study abroad administrator at Trent.  “It was so nice to have all the different groups involved with our program come together in one room.  Going abroad is a unique experience, and through this dinner everyone was able to share their stories and make new friends.”

The Trent Study Abroad Program will be hosting several more events this semester. If you are interested in learning more about the program or getting involved, please email katelogan@trentu.ca or visit the website at http://www.trentu.ca/studyabroad/
