From Histories & Mysteries to Writing & Literature: Trent University's Continuing Education Program Expands for Fall 2015

Registration open for Peterborough community to pick-and-learn from over 100 classes for only $20 per class

Monsters, the anatomy of stress, and the fall of the Roman Empire – these are just a few of the many classes being offered through Trent University’s Continuing Education program, taught by Trent graduate students every night of the week, starting October 12, 2015.

Trent University’s Continuing Education program has updated and expanded its format for fall 2015 after the success of the new format introduced in spring 2014, where community members have the chance to “choose their own adventure” by registering for single classes or full six or eight week courses.

“Based on the success of the new format, we’re able to offer an expanded variety of courses both in Peterborough and in Durham,” explained Dr. Michael Eamon, director of Continuing Education at Trent University. “We’re encouraging students to choose their own adventure by picking as many two hour classes as interest them. The cost is still just $20 per class.”

Along with offering more class topics, Continuing Education is expanding to the Trent University Durham campus on Thornton Road in Oshawa where classes will be held on Tuesday evenings. Students there will have the chance to choose between two courses: Stress Management or Business and Organizational Communications Essentials.

“Each Continuing Education class is designed to be a self-contained unit within a larger, thematic course. This means that you can take an entire course comprised of six to eight classes, or you can pick and choose the individual classes that best fir your scheduled and interests,” explains Professor Eamon.

All classes can be found, selected and paid for online. To ensure high quality, cutting-edge instruction, Continuing Education uses almost exclusively graduate students enrolled at Trent as instructors.

Classes in Peterborough start the week of October 12, all classes are just $20 and most classes are held during the evening at Traill College, Trent University’s downtown campus Monday through Friday at from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
