The Canadian Difference: A Conversation about our Country

As our country approaches its 150th anniversary, Trent University faculty members and students are inviting Canadians to join in an unprecedented online conversation about Canada. The Canadian Difference Project, a new initiative of Trent University’s Canadian Studies Department  with the philanthropic leadership of Ontario-based executives William A. Macdonald and William R.K. Innes, will be a digital conversation about who we are as a nation.

The vision for the project is a joint effort between Dr. Christopher Dummitt, chair of Canadian Studies at Trent University, Macdonald and Innes, in consultation with Trent's founding president and Canadian Studies scholar Thomas H.B. Symons. Macdonald and Innes have pledged to raise $600,000 to support the project, which has yet to be named and is set to begin in the fall of 2015.
