Trentís Varsity Soccer Hits the Airways

Cogeco TV will be on hand to capture the excitement when Trent’s men’s varsity soccer season squares off against Royal Military College (RMC) on September 6.

Trent will be playing two games against RMC, first at 4:00 p.m. and again at 6:15 p.m. This event marks the first time Trent students will have a chance to cheer on their own varsity squad from the newly installed bleacher stands at Trent University in the stadium. More than 1,000 first year students are expected to attend.

These soccer games are part of the Trent World Day activities currently underway this week as part of Trent’s Introductory Seminar Week (ISW). The full roster of events associated with the games on September 6 are listed below:

  • 3:00 PM - Pre game concert
  • 3:30 PM - Concert ends, flag ceremony preparations
  • 3:40 PM - Parade of flags by Trent International students (50 flags from countries around the world representing students from these countries who are currently attending Trent)
  • 3:45 PM - Parade continues to mid field, where the Royal Military College and Trent team, coaches and officials join in.
  • 3:50 PM - Flag bearers and teams face stands and announcer introduces the teams, followed by playing of O Canada
  • 4:00 PM - Game starts
  • 5:30 PM - Game ends (estimate)
  • 5:30 - 6:00 PM - Intermission entertainment - dancing music
  • 6:00 PM – Teams, coaches, officials line up for introductions, followed by O Canada
  • 6:15 PM – Second game starts
  • 7:45 PM - Completion of second game (estimate)
