Minister of Finance Greg Sorbara Visits Trentís DNA Building

DNA Building also serves as Setting for Local Rotary Club Meeting

The Honourable Greg Sorbara is greeted by Trent President Bonnie  Patterson, MPP Jeff Leal, and GPAEDC Executive Director Andy Mitchell.Monday, August 27 was a busy day at Trent University’s new DNA Building as the Honourable Greg Sorbara, Minister of Finance, and Peterborough Rotary Club members visited and toured the groundbreaking new facilities in two separate events.

Minister Sorbara was greeted by Trent University President Bonnie Patterson, Peterborough MPP Jeff Leal, and Greater Peterborough and Area Economic Development Corporation (GPAEDC) Executive Director Andy Mitchell upon his arrival to Trent’s campus. Joined by several Trent researchers and dignitaries, Minister Sorbara was then treated to a tour of the state-of-the-art labs and classrooms within the DNA Building.

Forensics Professor Barry Saville delivers a presentation to members of  the Peterborough Rotary Club.Earlier in the day, over 80 Peterborough Rotarians were also treated to a tour of Trent’s newest building. In an event co-organized by the DNA Cluster and Trent University, Rotary Club members enjoyed lunch and short presentations from President Bonnie Patterson, Dianne Lister, Trent’s vice-president of external relations and advancement, and University professor Dr. Barry Saville, prior to breaking into groups to tour various rooms in the DNA Building, including the Automation Lab, the Greenhouse and the Post Mortem Lab.
