Trent Hosts Peterborough Regional Science Fair April 10
April 4, 2007

Trent University will host the 2007 annual Peterborough Regional Science Fair, showcasing the work of students representing hundreds of schools from Apsley to Cobourg, on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 in the Chemical Science and Environmental Resources buildings on the Symons Campus.

The fair is open to the public for tours between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Admission is free of charge. Throughout the day, approximately 140 judges will be involved in evaluating the projects and identifying those of the highest merit, all the while maintaining a positive experience for all students. Awards will be presented in the Wenjack Theatre at 3:30 p.m.

Each year, students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 display their projects in biological, physical, engineering, and computing sciences. The experience is an invaluable stepping stone for many who go on to pursue successful careers in science, medicine, and exploration such as astronaut and Chancellor of Trent University, Dr. Roberta Bondar.

This year, the winners of the Science Fair will represent the Peterborough Region at the Canada Wide Science Fair in Truro, Nova Scotia for a week in May 2007. Trent University and the City of Peterborough will host the Canada Wide Science Fair in 2010.
