New Librarian to deliver lecture on "Libraries and their Future"

The Friends of the Bata Library are pleased to announce that Robert Clarke, Trent’s new librarian, will deliver a lecture, entitled "Libraries and their Future", on Thursday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the A.J.M. Smith Conference Room in the Bata Library.

During his talk, Mr. Clarke will share his views on libraries and their role and function, specifically in a university setting. This is the third event for the 06/07 year organized by the Friends of Bata Library.

Mr. Clarke joined Trent in October 2006, following an extensive national competition. He has 18 years of experience in progressive leadership positions in the libraries of McGill University. In addition to receiving his Master of Library Science degree from McGill, he speaks three languages, and has been actively involved with the Canadian Association of University Teachers, Special Libraries Association and the Corporation of Professional Librarians of Quebec.

The event is free and open to all members of the public.

The next event in the Friends of the Bata Library series will take place on Wednesday, March 7 when Elizabeth Driver, a publisher of numerous books on culinary matters, will speak.
