Grads welcomed to "family"

Trent graduates have joined a "privileged and very happy" network of former students, which reaches into every region of the country, University chancellor Peter Gzowski told Convocation.

Noting that it was almost exactly a year since he was sworn in, the chancellor said there had been "no day more thrilling and exciting than today, as we welcome new graduates into the Trent family.

"I have come to realize how deep and meaningful the phrase 'the Trent family' is. There is a real network of Trent grads right across the country and I welcome all new members to the privileged and very happy group."

The chancellor noted that his Trent appointment marked "a wonderful beginning for a new stage in my long and checkered career." And he told graduates they were, in one step, entering "a new century, a new age and a new day."
