Out-of-province students attending Trent up 40 per cent
Trent University's national recruitment campaign is having a positive effect as the number of first year students from out-of-province attending Trent has increased by 40 per cent.
"This good news story is a reflection of the effectiveness of our national recruitment marketing campaign," said Susan Salusbury, Registrar for the University. "It also is a positive comment about the efforts of our recruitment officers who are working hard to promote Trent University across Canada."
Although enrollment numbers will not be confirmed until the official November 1, 2004 count date, preliminary projections indicate that approximately 2,000 new full time students will register for courses this year.
Enrollment highlights include strong demand for Trent's professional programs:
Trent is experiencing an increase of 45 percent in the number of students transferring from colleges and other universities, as well as a very significant increase in registrations of students who have taken a year off from their studies before entering university.
Watch for news about some of those who are new to Trent. In this, the University's 40th anniversary year, a handful of new students, staff and faculty will be profiled in local newspapers and at www.trentu.ca.
