TRENT UNIVERSITY’S PRESIDENT APPOINTED TO TWO NOTABLE ORGANIZATIONS
Bonnie Patterson, president of Trent University, has been appointed to the council of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and to the executive committee of the board of directors for the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC).
The Association of Commonwealth Universities involves over 480 universities from the Commonwealth countries of Africa, Asia, Australasia, the South Pacific, Canada, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Cyprus and Malta. Member universities share information and traditions, and aim to further international understanding and collaboration in higher education.
The Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada comprises 93 public and not-for-profit universities, and university-degree level colleges. As an organization, the AUCC focusses on public policy, advocacy, communications, information sharing and partnerships. Professor Patterson has been a member of the AUCC board of directors since 2000 and was honoured to be invited to sit on the executive committee.
"I am pleased to accept these two appointments, and look forward to working with colleagues from throughout Canada and around the world," says Ms. Patterson.
