"Passport to Trent" for Chelsea and Zachary

Trent commemorated its 35th anniversary of official opening on October 17, 1999 by providing one year of free tuition to a baby born at hospitals in its campus cities of Peterborough and Oshawa.

"Passport to Trent" babies arriving Oct. 17 are Chelsea Lynn Crough, daughter of Kelly Speer and Rob Crough of Peterborough, and Zachary Martin Michel, son of April Chartrand and Martin Michel of Oshawa. The babies were given a certificate serving as the child's future "Passport to Trent" and a Trent-green baby t-shirt with the university logo and the words "Trent's Class of 201?"

Chelsea arrived at 1:39 a.m. weighing 6 lbs. 4 oz., and Zachary at 8:34 a.m. weighing just over 8 pounds.
