NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA)

These awards provide undergraduate students with summer employment in a research laboratory at Trent. The awards are valued at $4,500 for a four month period. Award holders must work with a faculty member who holds an active NSERC grant. The number of awards to be held at Trent in 1999-2000 is 11 (last year's quota was 5). Forms are available in the ofÞce. Deadline: January 15.

AES Science Subvention

This program supports research in the Þeld of atmospheric and related sciences. Support in 1999-2000 is expected to be $250 to $500K. Deadline: Feb 12.

Ontario-Quebec Exchange Program

Travel grants are available for joint research projects and academic exchanges between Ontario and Quebec universities. Deadline is Jan. 15.

UK/Canada Collaborative Programs

Priority subjects include Education, English, British Studies, Science, Business Studies, the Media and the Environment. Assistance is normally a contribution towards travel expenses. Details at www. britcoun.org/canada. Open deadline.
