New members join Board of Governors

Four new members have been appointed to Trent University's Board of Governors for terms ranging from two to four years.

Daryl Bennett, President of The Liftlock Group of Companies based in Peterborough, will serve as an at-large member of the Board for a term beginning July 1 and extending to June 30, 2004. Bennett also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors, Community Development Corporation, and has a strong background of community involvement.

Jordan Lyall, student, Dr. Gary Reker, faculty, and Marie Doyle, staff, have each been appointed to two-year Board terms.

Lyall is a student from Strathroy, Ontario who expects to major in politics and social sciences. Doyle has worked in Technical Services at Trent's Bata Library since 1988. Reker, a faculty member at Trent since 1973, is a full professor in the psychology department and his research is focused on the individual factors that promote successful aging.

The appointments were made by the Board of Governors.
