Summer Explorations in Canadian Cultures

The third annual Summer Explorations in Canadian Cultures (SECC), hosted by Trent University's Canadian Studies Program and Frost Centre for Canadian Heritage and Development Studies, will be held June 30 - July 14, 2000.

The program, which is expected to again attract visitors from all over the world, is for individuals and groups, including educators and researchers, scholars and students interested in expanding their knowledge of Canada.

Participants will be housed at Catharine Parr Traill College, named in honour of the noted author, botanist and pioneer settler of the Peterborough area.

Among their discussions will be the Canadian identity, trends in contemporary literature in Canada, multiculturalism, immigration, agriculture, social welfare and health-care systems, Canada's place in the world economy and aboriginal rights and self-government.

Additional information is available on the secc Web site, at www.trentu.ca/secc.
