35th anniversary celebration plans

Planning is underway to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Trent this October. A gala will be held at Showplace on October 16 with tickets priced at $35. Hosted by new chancellor Peter Gzowski, the evening will feature the play The Bush-Ladies: In their own words. Molly Thom, widow of Trent architect Ron Thom, adapted and directed the play and will be in attendance.

Thom wrote the play 30 years ago about Susanna Moodie and Catharine Parr Traill, Anna Brownell Jameson and Anne Langton, pioneers in Ontario of the 1830s. Thom was living in Peterborough at the time, while her husband was designing some of Trent.

Plans for the anniversary celebration are being co-ordinated by Lynn Neufeld.
