Trent joins in varied multicultural events marking city's 150th

The Multicultural Association of Peterborough and District and Trent University helped mark the City of Peterborough's milestone 150th anniversary by hosting a week-long celebration this past week called "Cultural Diversity in the Millennium."

Activities ranged from January 22's International Food Fair to Mr. Deo Kernohan of Vision TV speaking on the topic "The Face of Interfaith in the Millennium." Mr. Kernohan's talk was followed by a recital of classical Indian dance, performed by the internationally acclaimed dancer, Dristi Kernohan.

On Saturday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wenjack Theatre at Trent, there will be an evening of multicultural music, song and dance presented by the Trent International Student Association. This will be repeated as a matinee on Sunday, January 30 at 2 p.m. in the Wenjack Theatre. Tickets for either performance are $10 for the waged and $5 for the unwaged.

Tickets for these events are available downtown at Moondance, at Rexall Drugs in the Northcrest Plaza, and at the Trent International Program office at Trent University, Champlain College.
