Award-winning journalist to give Margaret Laurence Lecture

Celebrated author and journalist Stevie Cameron will give the thirteenth annual Margaret Laurence Lecture on Tuesday, December 5th at 8 p.m. in Wenjack Theatre.

Cameron is Editor-in-Chief of Elm Street magazine and a former host of CBC's The Fifth Estate. Her expose of government, On the Take: Crime, Corruption and Greed in the Mulroney Years, earned her the Periodical Marketers' Book of the Year and Author of the Year awards in 1995. She is also author of Ottawa Inside Out (1989) and Blue Trust: The Lawyer, The Author, The Wife and Her Money (1999), a compelling account of Mulroney's lawyer Bruce Verchere and his wife Lynne.

The Margaret Laurence Lecture is a public lecture, funded by a generous private endowment as well as the Secretary of State's Canadian Studies Directorate. The lecture annually brings a distinguished guest to Trent to speak on a topic concerning women's involvement in peace, ecology, literature, and/or feminism.

A reception will follow the lecture in the Champlain Senior Common Room, Champlain College.
