Trent employee to speak at Australian conference

Eunice Lund-Lucas, Trent's Special Needs Coordinator, will speak at the Pathways 5 conference in Australia on December 6th. The annual 4-day event, being held this year in Canberra, hosts educators from around the world.

Her talk "Partnerships in Success" focuses on the unique collaboration between Trent and Nipissing universities and Loyalist and Canadore colleges. Trent's involvement in the partnership, funded through the provincial Learning Opportunities Task Force, has resulted in improvements in screening procedures, outreach to teaching assistants and increased classroom resources.

Lund-Lucas describes the conference as "a great opportunity to share best practices and experiences" with professionals whose system of education is very different from Canada's. "I am very proud of Trent. We have an exemplary system here."

She is part of a Canadian contingent that also includes Trent alumnus Dawson Pratt of Canadore College.
