Trent Swimmers Compete at Nationals

Trent University swim team members, Alex Babaris and Scott Farrow, traveled to Laval, Quebec this past weekend to compete in the short course Senior National Swimming Championships.

Representing the Trent Swim club, Babaris finished 8th in the country in the 100m Fly, in a time of 55.31. "It was a great swim for Alex," said coach Sean Dwyer. "It's a big step in establishing himself as a top swimmer in the country." Babaris also finished 13th in the 50m fly with a time of 25.59. Farrow wasn't far behind in 25th place, 25.96.

With the majority of competitors much older than Scott and Alex, the two Trent swimmers had an impressive showing at Laval. "Considering that Alex and Scott have only been competitively swimming for three and two years respectively, this is a tremendous showing, and something to build on for the rest of the season."

Trent Swimmers will resume competitions in the new year.
