The Bank of Montreal's Ian Hamilton, VP East Central Ontario Flagship, and Marc Oddie, Senior Manager, Financial Services, Peterborough and Lindsay, were presented today with a plaque by Trent President and Vice-Chancellor Bonnie Patterson to recognize the Bank of Montreal's support to Trent University's Beyond Our Walls Campaign. The Bank of Montreal Scholarship, established as a result of a $85,000 donation from the bank, will support undergraduate students at Trent University. Sixty new named scholarships and bursaries have been provided by the funds raised from the Beyond Our Walls Campaign. John Bishop, Associate Professor in Administrative Studies at Trent University, presented the bank representatives with a book that he edited entitled Ethics and Capitalism. The idea of this book originated in the 1996-7 Distinguished Speaker Series at Trent University sponsored by the Bank of Montreal. The Beyond Our Walls Campaign was launched publicly in October 1999 with the goal of raising $17-million to increase: support for students; support for learning, teaching and research; and support for campus renewal. |
