Posted: Friday, October 27, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Award-Winning Author Graeme Gibson In Residence October 27 - November 1 Candelight retrospective to honour work of novelist: October 29 Graeme Gibson, widely regarded in Canada as "the novelist’s novelist," will be reading from his work in the atrium at Gzowski College on Argyle Street on Wednesday, October 29 at 8 p.m. The reading, sponsored jointly by Gzowski and Champlain colleges, is the highlight of Mr. Gibson’s weeklong residency at Trent, which will see him visit classes and assess the work of student writers. Champlain College has had writers-in-residence for more than 30 years, the first of whom was Margaret Laurence. In each of the last five years, the college has welcomed five writers-in-residence, among them, Michael Ondaatje, Dennis Lee and Andrew Pyper. Mr. Gibson follows playwright David French, who was in residence at Trent between October 6 and 17, 2003. In his time at Trent, Mr. French shared his experience of more than four decades with high school students, local theatre groups and interested community members. Mr. Gibson is credited
