EDUCATORS PREPARE FOR APPLICATION READING DAY

Approximately 150 educators from local district school boards will gather together at Trent University on Friday, February 21, to read applications for the University’s 2003/04 education programs.

The reading day will involve applications for Trent’s inaugural consecutive teacher education class, through the University’s School of Education and Professional Learning, as well as the Queen’s-Trent Concurrent Teacher Education Program.

Both the concurrent program (involving applicants graduating from high school) and the consecutive program (involving applicants who have graduated from university) have experienced high application rates this year. The numbers are a testimony to Trent University’s reputation for providing outstanding teacher education.

Teachers and administrators will participate in the reading day, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a training and information session.

Members of the media are welcome to attend the reading day and the training session.
