President Patterson elected Chair of PRHC Board

Trent University President Bonnie Patterson has been elected to serve as the next chairperson of the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) Board of Directors. She will assume the position in June 2005.

Professor Patterson is currently vice-chair of the Board and chair of the Health Centre's Stewardship Committee; she has been a Board member since 1999.

"I am pleased to accept the role as Chair of the Board at this particularly important time and look forward to working with the members of the Board and the administration as we continue to oversee the new hospital development for the region," says President Patterson.

PRHC's Board of Directors comprises 19 members carefully selected to provide excellent leadership for the Health Centre. Members are chosen to reflect broad community representation and to ensure PRHC serves the needs of the community.

"We are most fortunate to have a representative of our community of Ms. Patterson's ability serve in a leadership position on the PRHC Board. We look forward to working with her as she assumes her new duties following our Annual General Meeting in June," says Paul Darby, PRHC's President and CEO.

PRHC is an acute-care hospital, which serves a population of more than 300,000 in four counties.
