Staff and Faculty Spread Seasonal Goodwill

Their poodle skirts may have been wet, but the rain didn't dampen their spirits as Trent University staff members and their families took part in the December 4 Santa Claus parade.

Organizer Jean Hamilton says this, the third year for the Trent float, saw the most enthusiastic staffers ever. The parade theme was "A Rock and Roll Christmas" and Trent's float will took on a "Happy Days" theme, with a giant record on the back, a Christmas tree decorated with musical notes and staff and their families dressed in fifties and sixties wear. The float played Christmas rock and roll and there was much 'dancing in the street'. A new Trent University banner preceded the float.

Ms. Hamilton thanks all those who participated and invites anyone interested to join in the planning for next year's float, to contact her in Human Resources.

Showing a different kind of spirit, staff and faculty members at Trent demonstrated their generosity by collecting dozens of grocery bags-full of non-perishable food items for the food bank as part of their yearly holiday reception.

Trent's College Heads and President Bonnie Patterson hosted a Christmas and Holiday Reception on December 8 at Trent's Great Hall. This was a time to catch up with colleagues, celebrate the community we share and spread festive cheer.
