Trent University Launches New Home Page

Coinciding with the introduction of a newly integrated logo design, Trent University is pleased to launch its new home page design.

The revamped Web page integrates the forest green colour that has long been associated with the Trent University identity and adds the new grey-blue colour from a freshly integrated logo treatment introduced at Trent this Spring. The colours, along with a new wordmark, have been introduced in key materials, from next year's academic calendar to marketing materials throughout the University and they now extend to the Web.

The revamped home page is designed with the horizontal orientation of computer screens in mind with minimal scrolling required to view the information available. One of the key design features is the use of large images in conjunction with thumbnails that allow users to choose their favourite home page style. These photos will change seasonally, creating a whole new customizable look for the home page each time. Another key feature is the use of scrolling news giving Web users access to the latest information about Trent students, faculty, staff, research, happenings and events. Weekly features and key event info fill out the home page design.

New and improved links on Trent's home page now help visitors to find their way through the Web site by self-identifying as future student, current student, faculty & staff or alumni. These new links will allow visitors to quickly zero in on the information they need most.

An evolving project, the Trent University Web site will continue to be reconstructed over the weeks and months ahead, with a view to ease of use and a design that reflects the beauty of the Trent campus and unique opportunities for learning here.

If you experience any difficulties with the new home page please contact Marilyn Strain at marilynstrain@trentu.ca and describe the problem.
