Lord of the Rings Star Billy Boyd To Speak at Trent on March 18

Billy Boyd, the film and stage actor who plays Pippin in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, will speak at the Great Hall at Trent University on Tuesday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Boyd will show clips from several of his films and talk about the challenges of moving from an acclaimed career as a stage actor into cinema. Mr. Boyd is one of Scotland’s leading actors, winner of a BAFTA award, and a graduate of Scotland’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. He appeared in the original stage version of Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting and, along with his work in the Rings, has just completed a major role in a film directed by Peter Weir and starring Russell Crowe.

This event is free and open to the public. A question-and-answer period will follow Mr. Boyd’s presentation.
