Literacy leader visits Trent University

John O’Leary, president of Frontier College, Canada’s leading literacy organization, visited Trent University on Saturday, January 18.

Mr. O’Leary came to campus because of a literacy conference organized by Trent Students For Literacy. He spent the day with Trent students, and a variety of literacy issues were discussed.

Frontier College was founded in 1899 and, since 1991, student chapters have been operating at university campuses across the nation. The Trent group was the second group in Canada to come into existence, and has a strong base of student volunteers who spend time each week with groups and individuals, helping others learn or enhance their reading skills.
