Ultimate frisbee raises money for PSB Wilson fund

Trent’s main athletic field was a scene of frenzied frisbee action on Saturday, November 23 as 35 participants took part in a special ultimate frisbee tournament.

The tournament was the brainchild of fourth-year anthropology/history major Joe Teft. The goal was to generate funds for the PSB Wilson Fund for Athletics and Recreation.

Mr. Teft has been an athletic convenor, as well as a varsity and intramural athlete. He is an experienced campus tour guide, as well as an assistant in the Alumni Affairs office.

"Trent has given me so many great opportunities. I really wanted to return the favour by organizing this tournament and ensuring that we made a contribution to the Wilson Fund. In turn, the fund will benefit athletics at Trent," says Mr. Teft.

$200 was raised during the day, which Alumni Director Tony Storey was delighted to deposit in the Wilson Fund. "I am so grateful to Joe Teft and the frisbee players for showing an interest in the establishment of this named endowment fund. It’s quite a grassroots endorsement of retired Athletics Director Paul Wilson’s philosophy of ‘sport for all,’" says Mr. Storey.

The PSB Wilson Fund has raised over $157,000.
