Exploring Sudan:
Lectures and movies chronicle recent events

The Trent Local Committee of the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) has organized an evening to explore current issues in the African country of Sudan.

The event will take place on Thursday, November 28, at 7 p.m. in the Lady Eaton College Pit.

Gabriel Whel will share some personal experiences and talk about the current situation in Sudan. Professor Tim Stapleton, of the History Department, will talk about "civil war and conflict in post-colonial Africa: the legacy of indirect rule."

Clips from a Sudanese documentary, entitled "Sudan: the Hidden Holocaust" will also be shown.

Free fairtrade organic coffee and snacks will be available, and everyone is welcome to attend.
