Renovations to Bata Library Set to Begin May 2017!

We are excited to announce that plans are underway for renovations to Bata Library to begin in May 2017!

To repurpose, refresh and modernize all public areas of the Bata Library, create new spaces for collaborative learning and research centres, as well as a complete an overhaul of the environmental, heating and electrical systems, the Bata Library building will need to be closed from May 1, 2017 to May 1, 2018. This disruption is necessary to provide contractors the necessary time to complete the project within the timeframe set out in the Strategic Initiatives Funding guidelines, and to protect the library collection during the renovations. This renovation project is being led by the University Facilities Management team, who are currently working on finalizing plans and putting tenders out for contractor services.

The Library will continue to provide access to library services and resources during the renovations. Plans are still being finalized but we look forward to updating the university committee as information becomes finalized. A dedicated team at the University is working hard to ensure all students, faculty and staff will continue to have access to library collections and services, including our Madgic Unit and the Archives, as well as information and research support. Further information on the relocation of the library will be shared as soon as they are available.

More information can be found in the recent news article "Creating the Library of the Future " posted on the university's homepage.
