CPI.Q contains a wealth of Canadian and international periodicals — including Canada's national newspaper, The Globe and Mail; Maclean's weekly magazine; Canadian News Facts; and encyclopedic reference materials, such as the Canadian Parliamentary Guide and Canadian Newsmakers.

Designed to meet the needs of researchers at all levels, it yields a variety of relevant periodical articles, biographies, company profiles, historical documents, science and technology essays, and much more.

Note that the CPI.Q database includes many popular journal and magazine titles and is not restricted to scholarly journals.

At the bottom of each full text article find a box that provides a source citation (in MLA format) and a URL.  The URL is a durable link which will connect you back to the article.

  • If you connected to the database by signing in to the proxy server, the proxy is included in the URL.

If the article is not full text, the durable link will only bring you back to the citation.  Find the full text and use the durable link for that site.

Annual Reviews offers comprehensive, timely collections of critical reviews written by leading scientists. Volumes are published yearly for 46 focused disciplines within the Biomedical, Life, Physical, and Social Sciences including Economics.  Each year, Annual Reviews critically reviews the most significant primary research literature to guide researchers to the principal contributions of their field and help them keep up to date in their area of research. Each article is its own search engine, providing a gateway to the essential primary research literature referenced within each topic.

Academic Search Elite provides full text for more than 2,000 journals, including more than 1,500 peer-reviewed titles. In addition to the full text, indexing and abstracts are provided for all 3,484 journals in the collection.

This database offers information in nearly every area of academic study including: computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies and more. Examples of titles offered in Academic Search Elite include: American Historical Review, American Journal of Political Science, American Libraries, American Sociologist, British Journal of Psychology, British Journal of Sociology, Central European History, Contemporary Literature, Early American Literature, Journal of Social Psychology, Library Journal, Social Forces, Sociological Review, Theological Studies, Women's Studies, etc.

In addition to journal coverage, Academic Search Elite provides full text information from a variety of source-types such as scholarly monographs.
